Born in 1969 in Detroit, MI. Rich has been a full time artist for over 15 years and art making for over 20. Rich is self-taught through experience, with minimal formal training.

I currently spend most of my time drawing caricatures and creating sculptures using traditional tools in my warehouse studio. My Studio and gallery are currently located in New Port Richey, Florida.

Artist Statement

After reading Eckhart Tolle's book "The Power of Now" I had an awakening. I had been living my entire life through a lens of the past. Which I now realize was suffocating my life and my career. The past was stealing the freshness and spontaneity of the present moment and my art making.

From that moment forward I have had an insatiable curiosity about time, how we move through it, and our relationship with it. It's become a passion for me. My sculptures and paintings today reflect that immense curiosity of past, present and future.

I hope that my work engages the viewer by ever reminding us to come to and stay in the present moment, as that narrow sliver of time is all we ever really have.

I've been an artist all of my life, but only after this awakening have I felt this fire in my belly like none other. This fire is a gift from the Universe, from God. I've never felt such passion such definiteness of purpose in all my years as an artist.

Art making for me is more than just shaping metal and pushing paint, it's allowed me to express myself in ways I never thought possible. To venture into my soul for a glimpse of my true nature. Through this self-exploration and endless curiosity, art making has allowed me to mature as an artist and as a human Being. Evolving, learning more about myself and the Universe on a daily basis, as well as what it means to be a creator and to know peace.
